The Play-at-Home Hunt is a 1-Day event from GISH. Created in response to the COVID crisis, this brand-new event is designed to connect our global community, inspire acts of creativity and compassion, and provide support to those struggling due to the pandemic.
Like the annual GISH Hunt, we’ll give you out-of-the-box, wild challenges to complete. But unlike the high-stakes annual GISH Hunt, this is a no-pressure event. You can play while stuck in the comfort of your own home, using common household materials.

The GISH Play-At-Home Hunt will take place starting May 30th at 10AM PT/1PM ET. Jump on this opportunity for some fun. You participate as much or as little as you like. You’ll have until May 31st at 11AM PT/2PM ET to make the magic happen.
The GISH Play-At-Home Hunt is the world’s largest virtual, online, global scavenger hunt. It takes place wherever you are! We have many thousands of participants in over 100 countries around the world, and for the Mini Hunt, everything can be done from your very own home.
Registration starts Monday, May 4th and will close May 26th at 11:59pm PT.
This Play-At-Home Hunt was MADE for people in your situation. You’ll be able to play using common household items and won’t be tasked with leaving your house/property to complete Items/challenges. We will provide lots of solo activities!
This Play-At-Home Hunt was made for people in your situation, too. You can play as much or as little as you have time for. (And thank you for helping us all.)
To be on a team, you have to be at least 14 years of age. But you can help your friends and family who are playing if you are underage. Adults need all the help they can get.
You can invite friends and family, or go solo (if you don’t have anyone you want to play with). Either way, we’ll make sure to join you up with new GISH Friends Forever (GFFs) on a dream team!
YES. Join the Play-At-Home Hunt and have your kids help you succeed! That is sort of the point of having kids, right? Getting them to help you conquer the world?
You can join by yourself or invite friends and family! Teams can range from 9-15 players, so you can sign up with up to 14 friends, family members, and acquaintances. If you don’t have that many people, that’s okay! You can sign up with just a couple of friends or even go solo. We’ll fill up your team with fun friends from around the world to make sure you’re on a full team.
An open mind, a can-do spirit, a camera of some kind (a mobile phone camera is just fine), and some Internet access.
No. This is a mini-Hunt: a quick, no-pressure, fun event designed to bring our global community together during this crisis to have some fun, de-stress, and do some good in the process.
But don’t get too relaxed. The usual week-long, high-stakes, terrifying Hunt will happen as planned August 1-8, 2020. Registration will open for THAT exciting shenanigans again soon, so be ready.
Registration starts at just $15, and we have an premium registration package, if you’d like to get some commemorative schwag and provide more charity contributions.
YES. We have a list of Rules and Commandments to ensure that no one is endangered during the Hunt. We expect all participant to adhere to the rules and their local laws, including physical distancing and hand washing, to ensure that no one is put at risk by playing our game.
