When you join the 2021, GISH Hunt, you’ll be whisked off for an 8-day virtual vacation from normal life… but you’ll also be helping create a more inclusive, equitable world for LGBTQIA+ youth experiencing homelessness!
During early registration for the 2021 GISH Annual Hunt, a portion of every registration will be donated to True Colors United, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to implementing innovative solutions to youth homelessness that focus on the unique experiences of LGBTQIA+ young people.
LGBTQIA+ youth are 120% more likely to experience homelessness than their non-LGBTQ peers.
There are over 4.2 million youth experiencing homelessness in the US alone, and an estimated 40% of those young people identify as LGBTQIA+.
True Colors United is working to help meet the needs of these young people, offering training, education, advocacy, support, and resources to implement innovative solutions to youth homelessness that focus on the unique experiences of LGBTQ young people.
Founded over a decade ago by Cyndi Lauper, True Colors United is a platinum-rated 501(c)(3) charity that is fighting the good fight to ensure that the unique needs of LGBTQIA youth experiencing homelessness are met. They’re paving the way to an inclusive, safe world for LGBTQIA+ young people everywhere.
When you join the 2021 Annual GISH Hunt before Friday, December 4 at 11:59 PM PT, a portion of proceeds from your registration will go to supporting the important programs that True Colors United provides.
Through their innovative training and education, advocacy and youth action programs, True Colors United is working hard to help prevent and end homelessness in the LGBTQIA+ community. Together with your support, we can help ensure that LGBTQIA+ youth have safe spaces and the support they need so they can be free to be themselves and to thrive.
